QACPS Art Teacher Work on Display at the QAC Arts Council through November 1

CENTREVILLE, MD – The 5th Annual Queen Anne’s County Public Schools (QACPS) Faculty Art Show was a tremendous success, with an incredibly well-attended opening night on October 10, 2025 at the Queen Anne’s County Centre for the Arts in Centreville. The exhibition features over 75 works of art by 13 QACPS Visual Arts teachers, showcasing a remarkable range of creativity—from large oil and acrylic paintings on canvas to ceramics, mixed-media pieces, and fine printmaking.

Numerous works have already sold, marking what many from the opening reception called “the best Faculty Art Show yet.” View video highlights from the opening reception on the QACPS YouTube Channel.

“It’s vital that our art teachers continue creating their own work,” said Michael Bell, Supervisor of Visual and Performing Arts for QACPS. “When teachers stay active as artists, it elevates their professional practice to the highest caliber. Their students and our community see them not only as respected educators, but as true working artists—proving the old adage that those who can do, teach.”

Bell also extended his gratitude to Allison Moffatt, new Executive Director of the Queen Anne’s County Arts Council, and Rick Strittmater, Associate Director, for their continued partnership and support over the years. He also thanked Dr. Matthew Kibler, Superintendent of Schools, for attending the opening reception in support of the county’s art teachers.

Additionally, Bell publicly recognized the QAC Arts Council, noting that “they do so much for our teachers and students—from supporting exhibitions like this one to creating student scholarship opportunities that help keep the arts alive and thriving across Queen Anne’s County.”
