Mrs. Maggie Harris

Greetings! My name is Maggie Harris and I am a teacher of exceptional students in addition to the IEP Chairperson here at Church Hill Elementary School. I have been working at Church Hill since 2012 after graduating from Towson University with a dual Elementary and Special Education degree. A fun fact about me is that I swam for Towson University and served as a captain of the team for my Junior Year! Teaching is a passion of mine and so is being a lifelong learner myself! Since graduating in 2012, I completed a Masters in Special Education from the University of Virginia in 2014 and am currently working on a Master’s in Reading Education from UVA as well! I will be graduating from this program this spring!

In addition to teaching at Church Hill Elementary School, I am the head swim coach for Queen Anne’s High School and a part time assistant coach for Washington College. My love of both teaching and swimming have become engrained into my daily life and have helped me to become more acclimated to my new life on the Eastern Shore. When I am not taking classes, at school teaching, or coaching, I love being active. I swim, run, attend yoga classes, and whatever I can do to keep my body going! I also love food. I enjoy cooking and baking. Another fun fact about me is that I have an identical twin, who is an assistant principal in Fairfax, Virginia.

I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with your children and look forward to another wonderful year!
