Hello! I am the school counselor at Church Hill Elementary School. I began working at CHES in 2011 and I have absolutely loved every year that I have been here. It is such a pleasure to come to school each day and see our super CHES students. They never fail to delight and impress me! I have 25 plus years experience in education and am fortunate to have had an opportunity to work with schools in all grade levels-- elementary, middle and high school. Working with all age groups has given me valuable experience that not only has enhanced my career, but more importantly, has benefited our students. My mission at CHES is to help students meet success and grow academically, socially and emotionally. I am very much committed to this mission and look forward to working with students, their families and our staff.
I graduated from Vanderbilt University with a B.A. degree and moved from Nashville, Tennessee to Maryland to begin my career as a high school English teacher. The high school students were amazing and we shared exciting, rewarding educational experiences. After a while, I felt drawn to be a school counselor. I earned my M.Ed degree at Salisbury University with a concentration in guidance and counseling. I have additional graduate coursework at Loyola University, University of Maryland College Park, Bowie University and Washington College. The counseling experience has been a good fit for me and I feel blessed to serve our CHES family.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. Some of my favorite activities are traveling, reading and swimming.
