Seventh Grade Science Teacher
Environmental Science Enrichment Teacher
Student Government Association Adviser
Girls Soccer Coach
I teach 7th grade science here at STMS. This is my 6th year working for QACPS, and I love it. Moving to Kent Island was certainly an experience, but one that has captured my heart. While I love Kent Island, I moved across the Bay Bridge to allow me to be closer to the sailing capital of the Md, Annapolis!
In my classroom, students are often working in groups to complete lab activities to enhance their understanding of the material. During class, I encourage students to participate even though they may not fully be able to answer the question or understand the concept; participating is a way to show you are actively trying to learn. Students are also often asked to connect the material we are currently learning to something we have already learned previously in the year, which is difficult, but not impossible.
As a teacher, I want to see all of my students succeed. Students should feel free to email me with questions they have about homework or ask me to explain an concept to them again. I am always available during lunches to help.
Besides teaching here at STMS, I also coach the girls soccer team and am the adviser for the Student Government Association (SGA).
On the weekends, sailing on the Chesapeake Bay out of Annapolis, or traveling up and down the east coast visiting friends. When the weather is warm, I love to kayak, hike, or just be outside.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me through email or phone.
