Mrs. Stephanie MacKenzie
Hello! Welcome to my page. My name is Mrs. MacKenzie, and this is my fifth year teaching in QACPS. I have taught 7th and 8th grade reading language arts prior to this year. However, this year I am teaching 7th grade Contemporary World History! Additionally, I am the head coach for the STMS Cheer Squad that I founded through the PFY program last year and the Service Learning Coordinator for STMS.
In addition to teaching, I am attending Johns Hopkins University part time to continue my own education. Prior to teaching in Queen Anne's County, I obtained a master's degree from Wilmington University in secondary education. As part of this rigorous program, I taught at Northeast Middle School, Brandywine High School, and Stevensville Middle School. In 2010, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in history from Wesley College. Throughout my college career, I worked full time at Lexus of Wilmington in multiple positions. I decided to go into education after a life long love of learning and the chance to mold young minds. Education is my passion and has always been my dream.
A couple of years ago, I moved to Kent Island with my husband, and we enjoy its stunning views and the close knit community.
In my first year of teaching, I was awarded the "New Teacher of the Year" award for the 2013-2014 school year. Queen Anne's County is an amazing community, and I look forward to a fulfilling career at this amazing school district.
