Mrs. Stephanie MacKenzie

Eighth Grade U.S. History Teacher
Service Learning Coordinator
NJHS Coordinator
Cheer Squad Coach

Hello!  Welcome to my page.  My name is Mrs. MacKenzie, and this is my sixth year teaching in QACPS.  I have taught 7th and 8th grade reading language arts, and 7th grade history prior to this year.  For the 2018-2019 school year, I am teaching 8th Grade U.S. History! Additionally, I am the head coach for the STMS Cheer Squad that I founded through the PFY program three years ago, the NJHS Coordinator, and the Service Learning Coordinator for STMS.

In addition to teaching, I am attending Johns Hopkins University part time to continue my own education.  Prior to teaching in Queen Anne's County, I obtained a master's degree from Wilmington University in secondary education.  As part of this rigorous program, I taught at Northeast Middle School, Brandywine High School, and Stevensville Middle School.  In 2010, I graduated with a bachelor's degree in history from Wesley College.  Throughout my college career, I worked full time at Lexus of Wilmington in multiple positions.  I decided to go into education after a life long love of learning and the chance to mold young minds.  Education is my passion and has always been my dream.

A couple of years ago, I moved to Kent Island with my husband, and we enjoy its stunning views and the close knit community.  Here we are raising our first daughter, Haley, and enjoying all that life has to offer.

In my first year of teaching, I  was awarded the "New Teacher of the Year" award for the 2013-2014 school year.  Queen Anne's County is an amazing community, and I look forward to a fulfilling career at this amazing school district.
