QACPS Policies and Procedures

  • The Board of Education of Queen Anne’s County, with the advice of the Superintendent, sets goals and expectations for the instructional program and management of the schools through the development, revision, and adoption of policies. The policies adopted by the Board will be based upon the educational mission of the school system, Board member’s views and opinions, staff analysis and input, and public advice and comment.

    The Board of Education is currently in the process of revising its policies.  Policies are published for "3 readings" on the website and when approved, are inserted into their respective categories.  Therefore, some categories do not presently contain approved policies, but will as they are approved.

III. General School Administration

V. Support Services

This section contains policies on non-instructional services and programs, particularly those on business management such as safety, building and grounds maintenance, office services, transportation, and food services. This section is not intended to correspond with any district's organization. Its purpose is to establish policy categories for a variety of support activities.

VII. Personnel

This section contains school Board personnel policies. In the case of Professional staff, it applies to all employees, including administrators, who must in most cases have certification from state authorities to hold their positions. Support staff includes employees who provide administrative, technical, and logistical support to a school or educational program. These employees do not need certification from state education authorities to hood their positions.
