Mission

The Information Technology Department provides secure, reliable, and integrated technology solutions in alignment with academic and administrative goals, while delivering excellence in customer service. In support of this mission, we will:

  • Partner with various stakeholders to understand the information technology needs of faculty, staff, and students
  • Provide leadership and planning for the effective and strategic use of emerging technologies
  • Demonstrate technical and operational excellence through a commitment to professionalism and continuous improvement

Areas of Support

Business Operations (Budget, Acquisition, Project Management, Asset Management, etc.)

  • Develops, implements, and reviews security response and disaster recovery procedures
  • Tracks and maintains inventory on technology equipment
  • Provides recommendation and pricing on technology purchases

Applications and Data Support (SIS, Database Administration, Patch Management, etc.)

  • Develops, implements, and reviews security response and disaster recovery procedures
  • Tracks and maintains inventory on technology equipment
  • Provides recommendation and pricing on technology purchases

Infrastructure Management (Network Engineering, Data Center Management, Systems Administration, WAN/LAN Connections, DR, etc.)

  • Installs and maintains the local area networks (LAN)
  • Installs and maintains local area wireless networks
  • Installs and maintains all server hardware and operating systems
  • Installs and maintains Internet Content Filtering equipment
  • Supports and maintains the wide area fiber optic network shared with the QAC Government
  • Administers the QACPS Google Apps email system
  • Administers the QACPS directory services system (create users, manage permissions, manage networked resources, etc.)
  • Provides network support for school video surveillance systems, school door interlock systems and HVAC systems

Technology Support Services (Helpdesk, Incident Management, Desk Side Support, Equipment Repairs, etc.)

  • Track and maintain inventory on technology equipment
  • Provides on-site and helpdesk for large and diverse user base
  • Installs and maintains all desktop and laptop hardware
  • Creates IT walkthroughs and guides

Information Security (Threat Response, Risk Management, Cyber Investigations, System Monitoring, etc.)

  • Develops, implements, and reviews security response and disaster recovery procedure
  • Installs and maintains firewall equipment
  • Assesses and ensures security protection against unauthorized network use
