STEVENSVILLE — Bayside Elementary School (BES) Music teacher Monica White traveled to Baltimore recently as several students from her 5th grade chorus were selected to participate in the 5th/6th grade Treble Demonstration Choir at the Maryland Music Educators Association (MMEA) State Conference on Saturday, Feb. 25.

Of those nominated, Caroline Fasig, Giuliana Illiano, Alex Mench, Ellie Wells, and Jade Ellis joined Mrs. White with their families as they spent the afternoon making music with guest conductor Mrs. James and other equally enthusiastic young musicians from across the state of Maryland. The entire afternoon was a demonstration for both students and music educators on best practices for the rehearsal process including: warm-ups, vocal technique and intonation, rehearsal techniques for the large chorus, time management and rehearsal pacing, and programming diverse literature for emerging treble chorus.
