Ms. Katie Coursey
Math Specialist

Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Washington College; Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Gratz College; Maryland State Advanced Professional Certificate, Grades 1-8

I am the Math Specialist at CES, and I love guiding our students and teachers to success in mathematics!

I was raised in Queen Anne’s County, and I am a proud CES alumni myself! I came to Centreville Elementary School as a first grade teacher in 2009, where I taught until I moved to second grade in 2015. I became a Math Specialist in 2019, and I was QACPS Specialist of the Year in 2023! I received my bachelor’s degree from Washington College, my master’s degree from Gratz College, and post-graduate certification from McDaniel College.

In my spare time, I am an associate professor for the teacher education program at Salisbury University. I also enjoy spending time with my family and friends, especially trying new things and having new adventures! I love to read, and in the summer I enjoy going to the beach and to Camden Yards to see the O’s play!

I am looking forward to another great year at CES!
