Teaching Credential and Bachelors of Arts in Secondary Education and History from Howard University; Masters in Educational Leadership and Administration Credential from Trinity Washington University

I am thrilled to continue serving QACPS students and their families as Principal of Centreville Middle School. As i enter my fourth year at CMS, I’m excited to inspire, engage, and encourage students to be the best they can be in and out of the classroom!
In 2005, I began working for Howard University Middle School of Mathematics and Science in Washington, DC. I began my career at Howard University (MS)2 as an Instructional Aide and was fortunate to spend eleven years as a classroom teacher. In addition to teaching at Howard University (MS)2, I have also taught for District of Columbia Public Schools and Prince George’s County Public Schools district.
In addition to being a classroom teacher, I have worked as an Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) Program Coordinator preparing students for college readiness and coaching teachers in AVID curriculum methodologies.
From 2016 to 2019, I worked as an Assistant Principal at Kent Island High School in Stevensville, MD. My educational experiences have afforded me the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of people to meet the common goal of increasing student achievement.
I am excited to serve our students and work with such a talented, dedicated group of educators. I’m looking forward to building personal relationships with all of the wonderful students, parents, and staff at Centerville Middle School. I know first hand of the hard work and perseverance it takes to succeed, and I’m committed to our students experiencing that success.
On a personal note, I am a proud, loving mother to my daughter Sarai (age 14) who will be starting 9th grade this fall. I look forward to another year with students, staff, and their families as I humbly lead Centerville Middle School.
