A career educator, Ms. Pupke has taught grades K-12, serving as both a classroom teacher and as a reading specialist. In addition to her experience working with students from Kindergarten through high school, Karen holds Maryland Advanced Professional Certification as an English teacher grades 6-12 and as a K-12 Reading Specialist. Ms. Pupke earned a bachelor's degree in English from Lehigh University, a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from Teacher's College, Columbia University, and a post-master's degree in reading from Bank Street College of Education. Ms. Pupke and her 16 year old daughter, Elizabeth, enjoy spending time with their dog, Molly, and are happy to have relocated to the Eastern Shore after many years of living and working in New York City. Fun fact: Ms. Pupke's mother grew up in Centreville and attended Queen Anne's Public Schools.
