I have been teaching at Kent Island High School since the fall of 1998, when we first opened our doors at the main campus. When we opened the annex, I volunteered to be one of the 9th grade science teachers. At the annex, I teach Honors Biology and PBS (PLTW - Principles of Biomedical Science). I love what I do and work hard to enstill a love for science and learning into all of my students. I hope that all of my students leave my classes with new skills that enable them to be successful in higher levels of science both here at KIHS and in any future indeavors that may include the sciences.
In addition to teaching at school, I am one of the freshman class advisors, a member of the school improvement team, and a member of the student assistance team.
When I am not at school, I am busy with my family. I have 4 kids (ranging in grades from kindergarden to 9th grade) who are all students in our school system and who are all involved in many community activities. My husband and I are very involved with many of the local sports programs and activities with our kids. We also have a young chocolate lab, Puddin, who is often with us... she is very friendly but be warned, she doesn't realize how big she is and she may greet you with enthusiasm:)
I look forward to a great semester with all of my students!
