Degrees and Certifications:
I'm happy to be part of the Social Studies and CTE Departments at Queen Anne's County High School. As a graduate of Queen Anne's it's good to be home. I typically teach American History and/or Government, as well as the Teacher Academy of Maryland pathway, where we hope to continue to "grow our own". The Teacher Academy is a four course pathway that includes Human Growth and Development, Teaching as a Profession, Foundations of Curriculum and Instruction, and a culminating Internship in one of the Centreville area elementary or middle schools. We have had tremendous success in getting our students into teachiing pathways at various Maryland colleges, such as Towson and Salisbury, where they are able to receive college credit and/or scholarship money for their accomplishments at Queen Anne's County High School.
In addition to teaching, I get great enjoyment from coaching golf and lacrosse at Queen Anne's. We have had a good run in both sports throughout our school's history, and we look forward to continuing that trend!
In addition to teaching and coaching, I serve as advisor for Educators Rising. This program has been truly riding on the backs of the students who lead and participate in the organization. As an extension of the Teacher Academy, these kids are on their way to lead future generations.
As Lions, we are collectively called the Pride of the Eastern Shore. When we take pride in what we do and in one another, we can accomplish great things!
