Title I Program New to SMS for 2016 – 2017 School Year!

    By:  Eric Daniels-Parent Coordinator

This year SMS has qualified as a School Wide Title I Program.  The program is tailor-made to ensure that all students are successful in meeting the State’s performance standards.   I am pleased to continue to work with the staff at Sudlersville Middle School as your Parent Coordinator.

This year all students may receive in-class instruction in reading or mathematics, depending on their need for assistance in each subject area.  All Parents will be notified that their child is participating in a Title I funded program and parents must be made a part of the process.  A county wide Title I Advisory Council must be formed and meetings are held where delegates from each Title I school are asked to attend county wide meetings.  Our Council is called; Parent Advisory Council (PAC) for short. We in the process of planning our first meeting to review our new plan and to prepare for our Title I Dinner that will be held in September.

Thanks to those who will join forces with us.  Parents have or will be receiving a copy of the Plan and asked to review it as well as complete the parent survey and return it back to school.  From this survey the team will be planning upcoming family events for this school year.  We will also use the information to evaluate the program.  Please feel free to stop in and/or call your Parent Coordinator:  Eric Daniels at ext. 402 to discuss this new Program.

We encourage all parents to stop by our  Parent Resource Center which will have information and material to assist families in meeting the educational goal of all students.

Hope to see you or hear from you soon!

Please stop in to visit our Parent Resource Center which houses information and material to assist families in meeting the educational goal of all Title I students.  ERIC DANIELS – PARENT COORDINATOR
