Hello and welcome to 2nd grade! My name is Jennifer Mariano. I have been teaching for more than 17 years. After receiving my Bachelors in Psychology and my Masters in Elementary Education from The College of New Jersey, I taught 3 years in New Jersey. I then came to QAC and taught for 5 years at CES and KES before taking a leave of absence to raise my two boys. I returned to teaching as a Reading Intervention teacher and long term substitute for 4 years. In 2013, I returned to CES as a Pre-K teacher. This year will be my sixth year as a 2nd grade teacher at CES. I am excited about teaching my students what they need to know to prepare them for the transition to 3rd grade at KES. I enjoy developing a love of learning in our students!
I live in Centreville with my husband, two sons and our dog, Otis. When I am not at school, I enjoy reading, swimming, going for nature walks, taking photographs and spending time with my family and friends. I spend a lot of time at the fields watching my son play soccer. Some of my favorite things are animals, especially sea turtles, flowers, the color turquoise, raspberries, seafood, potato chips and pretzels and reading stories to kids. My favorite professional sports teams are The Baltimore Orioles and The Baltimore Ravens.
I can't wait to help you learn all sorts of new things this year at CES!
