I grew up in Delaware before moving to Maryland with my husband. Growing up I competitively showed horses, played field hockey, and was actively involved in my 4-H and FFA chapters. I rode on the equestrian team at Delaware State University where I earned my Bachelors of Science in Chemistry. While I always played teacher as a child, I confirmed my love for teaching and children after graduation and got my Master’s in Education. I have spent the past 15 years in education, working as both a special education teacher and a science teacher in Delaware and Maryland. Throughout my career, I have learned that some of the most meaningful school experiences happen when schools, families, and community members work together to support children.

Outside of school I enjoy spending time with my husband Matt and son Colton before we become a family of four in November. I love to read, go camping, and spend time outdoors in the garden or watching Colton play with the animals around our farm.
