KI Update 11/9/23

Q1 Progress Reports –  will be emailed home tomorrow, November 10.  Please take a moment to review this report with your child and contact school counselors or teachers with questions. This report determines eligibility for sports.

Military Family Liaisons – In honor of Veterans Day, we want to share that QACPS has appointed two Military Family Liaisons to help students navigate having parents or guardians with military careers.  Please take a look at this flyer  for more information.  

National Apprenticeship Week, November 13-17 – Throughout the week there will be a day of local responders and military and even the trades programs from Chesapeake College. The tables will be set up in the hallway of the cafeteria during all lunch shifts and between lunches. The schedule for the week is here. This week is to help encourage students that are not interested in traditional college programs, to find a post-graduation path that can lead to a successful career. Playoff Game –   KIHS vs NCHS – November 10th.  Tickets for the Football Regional playoff game can only be purchased online here: GAME TICKETS.  Tickets will not be sold at the gate. This game will be at North Caroline High School.  

Winter Sports Season – November 15th is the first day of winter sports.  Make sure you have completed your registration in Form Releaf and have an updated physical for this year.

South County Combined Choral Concert  – Thursday, November 16 at 7:00PM in the auditorium. Musical selections will be performed by KIHS, MMS, STVMS, Bayside and Grasonville Elementary music students. Admission is free.

Salisbury University –  On-Site Admissions day is Nov 16th. A representative from Salisbury will be here to interview students who have applied to Salisbury University and have a 2.8 gpa or higher. Decisions for admittance will be communicated to students that day!!!!

Testing Schedule for 1st Semester-Save the Dates! Please mark your calendars for upcoming semester 1 assessments including ASVAB,  state graduation assessments, and final exams. It is important that students are in school during these dates. The testing calendar, purpose of each assessment, and who is scheduled to participate in each assessment can be found here
