KI Update 2/8/24

Important Updates for This Week:

  • Spring Sports Orientation
  • School Day SAT for Juniors-March 26th!
  • Summer School 2024

Spring Sports Orientation – Thursday, February 22 at 6:00PM in the cafeteria. Spring sports will begin Friday, March 1Form ReLeaf is open now for registration. All athletes looking to try out must register on Form ReLeaf. Reminder that all athletes must have a current physical on file in the athletic department. Questions? School Day SAT for Juniors-March 26th! QACPS offers the SAT free of charge to Juniors each year. KIHS will be administering the SAT on Tuesday, March 26th, during the school day. The SAT is now a digital test. Practice resources and more information about the SAT can be found here

Summer School 2024 Summer School will be held July 8th through August 1st. Students who have failed a core academic course will have the opportunity to complete credit recovery during this time. A fee of $200 per course will be charged for Summer School. 

To be on track for graduation, students must earn a certain number of credits each year. The number of credits needed to be promoted to the next grade is outlined below.

To be Promoted to 10th Grade, Earn At Least 5 Credits

To be Promoted to 11th Grade, Earn At Least 12 Credits

To be Promoted to 12th Grade, Earn At Least 18 Credits

Summer School is a great opportunity to get on track for graduation. Information regarding how to sign up for Summer School will be shared later this semester. 

School Communication –  As S2 continues, we will get busier and busier with many activities planned at KIHS.  Please stay current by reading the weekly KI Update, viewing our daily Buc Report, and visiting our school webpage and Instagram accounts.
