KI Update 4/11/24

Important Updates for This Week:

  • MCAP ELA 10 State Testing starts on Monday! 
  • April is Child Abuse Prevention Month QAC GOES BLUE FOR KIDS campaign.
  • Maryland Youth Advisory Council Application

End of Year Testing Schedule – It’s time to take a look! MCAP ELA 10 State Testing 
All students in English 2 and students in English 3 who did not score 750 or higher on MCAP ELA 10 last year will be taking MCAP ELA 10 on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday next week. They must have a fully charged laptop for each day of testing. This assessment is a graduation assessment. Additionally, students must score 750 or higher to be considered College and Career Ready in English.

Please mark your calendars for the additional upcoming assessments including state graduation assessments, AP tests, and final exams. It is important that students are in school during these dates. The testing calendar, purpose of each assessment, and who is scheduled to participate in each assessment can be found below. 

Semester 2 Testing Schedule

Please note, students may not have unapproved electronic devices on them during state or local testing. If a student is found to have an unapproved electronic device on them during testing their test may be voided and disciplinary action will be taken.

QAC GOES BLUE FOR KIDS April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.  The Queen Anne’s County department of Social Services has provided us with information to share with our students and parents.  Please take a moment to review these documents: Tips , Take It Down , Sextortion   

National Honor Society Induction – Tuesday, April 16 will be our National Honor Society Induction ceremony. We will begin at 6:00PM in our auditorium.

Maryland Youth Advisory Council – MYAC The Maryland Youth Advisory Council applications are open for the 2024-2025 school year. The MYAC is a great opportunity to serve as a liaison between Queen Anne’s County youth and policymakers. For more information about the MYAC and links to the application, check out the flyers below.
