Fall MISA and MCAP Government Scores Coming Home Tomorrow! Students who took MCAP Government or the Maryland Integrated Science Assessment last semester will be receiving their score reports during 1st period tomorrow

National English  Honor Society Induction – The National English Honor Society Induction will take place on Tuesday, April 23 at 6:00PM in our auditorium.

ArtScene – Please join us for ArtsScene, Thursday, April 25.  Doors open at 5:00PM. Over 500 works of 2D & 3D student work showcasing KIHS and area feeder schools.  Live student art demos, scholarship announcements, annual NAHS induction and more!

End of Year Testing Schedule – It’s time to take a look! MCAP Geometry State Testing 

All students in Geometry who did not score 750 or higher on MCAP Algebra I last year will be taking MCAP Geometry beginning May 1st. They must have a fully charged laptop for each day of testing. This assessment is a graduation assessment. 

Please mark your calendars for the additional upcoming assessments including state graduation assessments, AP tests, and final exams. It is important that students are in school during these dates. The testing calendar, purpose of each assessment, and who is scheduled to participate in each assessment can be found below. 

Semester 2 Testing Schedule

Please note, students may not have unapproved electronic devices on them during state or local testing. If a student is found to have an unapproved electronic device on them during testing their test may be voided and disciplinary action will be taken.

PTSA Needs Your Help!

  • Elections – The PTSA is looking for candidates to take office next year to continue the work to help support students and staff.  If you are interested in being an officer please contact Heather Black at  [email protected]  Elections will be in May.
  • Sign Up Genius for Teacher Appreciation Week – Please use this link: to sign up for goodies that are needed to show our appreciation for all the hardworking staff at KIHS.  Teacher Appreciation Week is May 6 – 10.

QAC GOES BLUE FOR KIDS April is Child Abuse Prevention Month.  The Queen Anne’s County department of Social Services has provided us with information to share with our students and parents. Please stop by our counseling office to pick up this information.

Maryland Youth Advisory Council – MYAC The Maryland Youth Advisory Council applications are open for the 2024-2025 school year. The MYAC is a great opportunity to serve as a liaison between Queen Anne’s County youth and policymakers. For more information about the MYAC and links to the application, check out the flyers below.
