KIHS New Bell Schedule Begins August 26th

KIHS will have a new bell schedule to begin the 2024-2025 school year. Students will report to school at 7:35am, and should be seated in their 1st period class by 7:45am. The school day will still conclude at 2:30pm. This schedule allows for increased instructional time, as well as a 35 minute advisory period each day. The purpose of the advisory period is to support students’ academic and social-emotional skills. During the advisory period students will have opportunities to access tutoring, participate in clubs and activities, study/complete homework, and participate in sessions to improve their academic work habits, college and career readiness, and wellness. A copy of the 2024-2025 schedule can be found in the link below.

MCAP Geometry State Testing-May 1st, 2nd, and 6th

All students in Geometry who did not score 750 or higher on MCAP Algebra I last year will be taking MCAP Geometry on May 1st, 2nd, and 6th during their Geometry course. They must have a fully charged laptop for each day of testing. This assessment is a college and career readiness assessment.

Be sure to mark your calendars for the additional upcoming assessments including state graduation assessments, AP tests, and final exams. It is important that students are in school during these dates. The testing calendar, purpose of each assessment, and who is scheduled to participate in each assessment can be found below.

Semester 2 Testing Schedule

Please note, students may not have unapproved electronic devices on them during state or local testing. If a student is found to have an unapproved electronic device on them during testing their test may be voided and disciplinary action will be taken.

Summer School 2024

Students who fail core academic courses will be recommended to attend summer school to ensure they remain on track for graduation. School counselors will recommend specific courses for your child. This information will be shared in mid May. The schedule for summer school, as well as payment information, can be found below.
