Since coming to KIHS I have: continued my education at Wilmington University pursuing a Masters in Human Resource Management, Towson University completing a program in Teaching Financial Management to Teenagers, University of Maryland Eastern Shore completing the Certificate for Work-Based Learning Coordinator, and the University of San Diego where I studied Project-Based Learning and Journalism for Yearbook Advisors, gotten married (2003), welcomed our daughter (2003), was named Maryland State Business Teacher of the Year (2003), was a finalist for Queen Anne’s County Teacher of the Year (2003), welcomed our first son (2004), welcomed our second son (2009), welcomed our third son (2014) and was a finalist for Queen Anne's County Teacher of the Year (2022).
My daughter graduated from KIHS in 2021 from the Project Lead the Way Engineering Program and is currently studying Electrical Engineering at Penn State University Park, my son was KIHS Class of 2023 President, completed the Project Lead the Way Bio-Med Program and is studying Pre-Med at Penn State University Park, my younger sons attend school in Queen Anne's County as well.
My personal philosophy of education is to educate and excite students about the theories, foundations, and functions of business while helping each student understand and become a contributing member of our socio-economic system. I want students to have an understanding of business principles, how they are utilized in various fields as well as in everyday life, and to help them be prepared for further study and practical application in their own lives.
Fun fact: When I first moved to the Eastern Shore I became a trained volunteer Fire Fighter to help serve my community.
