Masks No Longer Required in QACPS Schools & Buses

As a result of the The Administrative, Executive, and Legislative Review (AELR) committee
meeting today, the mask mandate has been lifted. Therefore, the decision to require masks
returns to the local district.

As of today, Friday, February 25, 2022, masks will no longer be required in Queen Anne’s
County Public Schools (QACPS). While masking is not required, every student and staff
member should feel supported in their personal decision. Everyone should be kind and
respectful of one another’s choices. Schools, offices and buses will continue to have masks
available.

In addition, the CDC recently announced that masks are no longer required on public transportation. Therefore, students and staff are no longer required to wear masks on QACPS school buses.

In good practice, if symptomatic, stay home. Student illnesses should continue to be reported
to the school attendance secretary and student COVID-positive cases should be reported to the
school nurse. Positive cases among staff should be reported to both the school nurse and the
supervisor or principal. The QACPS COVID Alert email will no longer be monitored after
February 28, 2022.
