Powerschool
The Powerschool Student and Parent portal gives parents and students access to real-time information including attendance, grades and detailed assignment descriptions, school bulletins, lunch menus and even personal messages from the teacher.
Parent Teacher Association (PTA)
The PTA at our school works to promote the welfare and achievement of our children in the home, school, and community. It is a combined effort of all parents, teachers, and administrators. Membership is open to all parents, staff, and any adults who are interested in the objectives and activities of the PTA.
To help achieve our goals, the PTA sponsors the Cultural Arts programs, including assemblies and special events. They help to fund field trips and items that enhance learning in the classrooms. The PTA also sponsors the Scholastic Book Fairs, Art to Remember, the Holiday Shoppe and Giving Trees. Past family events have included Grandparents Day, Movie Nights, the Father/Daughter Dance and Mother/Son event. This spring, the PTA will sponsor Family Game Night and the Shamrock Sprint 5K and Fun Run.
Current information about the PTA can be found on the board in the front hallway of the school. Check out our Facebook page under “Matapeake Elementary School PTA” to see volunteer opportunities and upcoming events.
It takes a village – the PTA could not accomplish all they need to do without the generous support of our parent volunteers. All volunteer help is greatly appreciated throughout the year. Be on the lookout for our weekly “PTA Tuesday” email to all members that contains important information and volunteer opportunities. PTA meetings are held monthly on the 3rd Monday at 6:00pm at the school, and all are welcome to attend. Please contact an officer if you have any questions. The PTA president can be reached at [email protected].
PTA Mission Statement
The Mission of the PTA is threefold:

- To assist parents in developing the skills they need to raise and protect their children; and
- To encourage parent and public involvement in the public schools of this nation.
