Queen Anne’s County Celebrates Grand Opening of Everside Health Center, a Revolutionary Health Benefit for Government and School System Employees

On August 22, 2023, Queen Anne’s County Government and Public School System joined in celebration to mark the grand opening of Everside Health Center, a healthcare initiative exclusively designed for employees, dependents, and retirees affiliated with Queen Anne’s County Government and Public Schools.

Beverly Churchill, Director of Human Resources for Queen Anne’s County Government, expressed her excitement about this program, stating, “I have 35 years of experience in Human Resources and this is the most exciting and innovative program that we have done for employees. We have worked with a top-notch team to develop a primary care program for employees, their dependents, and our retirees. I believe this program will become a model not only for the eastern shore but for the state of Maryland.”

The Everside Health Center covers up to 90% of comprehensive and primary care needs with no out-of-pocket costs for all full-time employees, regardless of their health insurance coverage. This benefit extends to employee dependents, retirees, and retiree dependents who are on the Queen Anne’s County health plan. The Everside Health Services include virtual care and round-the-clock access to manage healthcare needs, with an office conveniently located in Centreville and virtual consultations available via phone or video.

“This collaborative effort between multiple agencies is the future of primary healthcare in rural counties.” Said County Commissioner Jack Wilson “With this program we hope it will increase the level of care for our employees and that will in turn reduce the amount of acute healthcare needs down the road.”

The Everside Health Center aims to offer same day/next day access to convenient high-quality care, enabling patients to build a relationship with their healthcare providers and work towards achieving their health goals. Beyond primary care, the center also provides an on-site lab and commonly prescribed medications, ensuring a holistic approach.
