CENTREVILLE — The 3rd annual Faculty Art Exhibition showcasing Queen Anne’s County Public Schools’ Art Teachers is being hosted by Rick Strittmater, Executive Director for the Queen Anne’s Centre for the Arts, from September 15 – October 6, 2023 and will feature artwork ranging from drawings, paintings, photographs and sculptures.
The opening reception is Friday, September 15th from 6 – 8pm, free to the public!
Expanding on the recent revival of the arts in Queen Anne’s County, including the success of QACPS’ ArtScene K – 12 district-wide student art shows, along with a strong partnership forged between Strittmater and Michael Bell, Supervisor of Visual and Performing Arts — both anticipate an even larger turnout this year.
“It’s important for our art teachers to stay artists,” said Supervisor Bell, “and I hope the entire Queen Anne’s County community comes out to support our art teachers in a massive way on opening night. It would be great for the students to see their teachers as working artists who are professionals in their field.”
Dr. Marcia Sprankle, Assistant Superintendent, has attended opening night of the Faculty Art Show for the past two years and is equally as excited for this year!
