Mission Statement
The Queen Anne’s County Education Partnership aims to connect community resources to specific classroom-based requests in order to increase the impact of existing community donations and support to the Queen Anne’s County Public School system. The QAC Education Partnership raises funds in order to provide grants to QACPS teachers by purchasing supplies, materials and supporting innovative programming in the classroom. Since 2021, over 50 grants totaling more than $25,000 have been awarded to our teachers for requested materials that support instruction (updated Sept 2025).

Frequently Asked Questions
How is this different from school-based PTA groups?
School-based PTA groups are vital fundraising organizations for our county’s schools. While they focus on the school as a whole, the QACEP focuses only on classroom level teacher requests.
What are teachers requesting?
Most teacher requests are under $200! The top items? Hands-on learning tools for students, flexible seating options, and supplies to add to what they are provided by the QACPS budget to account for current class needs. Grants have been awarded for more expensive items as well, such as microscopes, breadboards (for circuit making), piano keyboards, a chorus riser, rocket building kits and a color printer.
Why does the school system budget not cover these requests?
The county ensures that all required educational materials are provided for our students. While teachers’ requests are innovative and legitimate, QACPS could not possibly supply all requests. The QACEP provides a way for teachers to ask for these critical materials and receive them in a timely manner. This is a unique opportunity for QACPS teachers to incorporate innovative lessons into their teaching and keep their students excited about learning.
Where does QAC Education Partnership get its funds?
The nonprofit is volunteer run and applies for private grants, reaches out to local businesses for contributions and creates community-wide fundraising events. Please reach out to learn about new incentives and sponsorship levels.
What is Chesapeake Charities’ role?
Chesapeake Charities manages many funds under their 501(c)(3) nonprofit umbrella. They guide nonprofits through the process of serving their communities while handling all administrative, financial and tax components. An online portal is provided to fund managers to have grants approved by their board members to ensure that funds are used in line with the nonprofit fund’s mission with full transparency.
How does this process work?
As funds are available, teachers can apply for grants by emailing QACEP to request the google form application. They will hear back within a few days that the form has been received and that the request meets eligibility. Teachers receive a response within 30 days if they have been awarded grant funding for their request. Requested items are ordered and delivered directly to the school.
Celebrations
March 2025
$2,000 grant awarded to QACHS Engineering department for new breadboards – providing hands-on experience for students interested in electronics and circuit building.
June 2025
Funds received through a grant from the Mockingbird Foundation allowed for a $5,900 grant to Bayside Elementary School for an additional chorus riser, new piano keyboards and MIDI controllers. QACEP was able to collaborate with BES administration to surprise Ms. White with students from her growing chorus and band programs.
