CENTREVILLE— Queen Anne’s County Public Schools (QACPS) is proud to announce that three talented students have earned All-State honors in Dance for the 2024-2025 school year, marking a historic achievement for our dance programs.

Senior Catrina Gromley of Queen Anne’s County High School (QACHS) has become the school’s first-ever All-State Dancer, standing out as one of only 26 students across Maryland to be selected for this prestigious honor. QACHS Dance teacher Mrs. Tyler extends heartfelt congratulations to Catrina, along with her fellow nominees, senior Savanah Vega and junior Isabel Ruth, for representing QACHS with such dedication.

At Kent Island High School (KIHS), Ms. Wright’s dancers earned All-State honors again this year, with juniors Dylan Miller and Nadia Wilde also being named All-State Dancers. Ms. Wright shared her excitement, noting, “Dylan made history as the first male All-State Dancer in QACPS, while Nadia became the first-ever back-to-back All-State Dancer in QACPS history!”

Both high schools and all three All-State dancers—Catrina, Dylan, and Nadia—will participate in the Showcase Day and will be recognized at the Gala Concert on Friday, January 10th, where they will receive their awards.

Michael Bell, Supervisor of Visual and Performing Arts, expressed his excitement: “I am incredibly proud of these students and their dedicated dance teachers. Achieving these historic accolades is truly remarkable, and I hope the underclassmen who were also nominated will continue striving for All-State honors next year. These students have paved the way, showing that anything is possible, and they are an exceptional representation of QACPS at the state level.”
