CENTREVILLE, MD – The Queen Anne’s County Judy Centers, in collaboration with the Queen Anne’s Early Childhood Advisory Council (QAECAC) and Amanda Ensor of It Takes A Village, LLC, recently hosted the second of three professional learning sessions focused on strengthening early mathematical-thinking instruction. The session continued the group’s “Dream Forward” theme, an innovative professional learning series designed to support early childhood educators.

This initiative is funded through a grant from the Maryland State Department of Education and supports QAECAC’s ongoing “Dream Forward” mission, helping educators align their teaching practices with the Revised Maryland Early Learning Standards.

The second session was held on January 12, 2026, from 6:00–8:00 p.m. at the Queen Anne’s County Board of Education. The training focused on enhancing mathematical-thinking instruction by empowering educators to foster problem-solving skills, number sense, spatial reasoning, and other foundational math concepts in young learners. The ultimate goal of the session was to equip childcare providers with practical tools to nurture early mathematical thinking in meaningful and engaging ways.

QAECAC continues to utilize grant funding from the Maryland State Department of Education to offer this series of free professional development opportunities to all licensed childcare providers in Queen Anne’s County. Together, the Judy Centers, QAECAC, and community partners are building a stronger foundation for children across Queen Anne’s County, helping them grow, learn, and thrive.
