Meet Mrs. Beauchamp
I am excited about our new school yar as the math specialist. We will be following the MD College and Career Readiness Curriculum. I hope to instill in your child an excitement about numbers and the process of mathematics. Previously, I have taught K, 1st, and 2nd grades. I taught 1st grade at CHES for 14 years. My love for math was sparked when I attended the Governor’s Academy for Math and Science in 1999.
I graduated from Salisbury University , This will be my nineth year as a math specilist. I have enjoyed attending many workshops on teaching math to yourn children.and writing math curriculum for the state for kindergarten and first grade.
I have 3 grown children and 6 grandbabies. I am busy during holidays traveling to see my children. When at home in Chestertown, I enjoy shopping, visiting friends, reading novels, and doing various activities in the church I attend. I love to go to the beach and walk along the shoreline. My favorite food is pizza. I like Snickers and peanut M&M's. My older son is a chef so I enjoy going to new restaurants and trying a variety of foods with him.
What can you do at home to help your child with math? Board games using dice are very good to help your child reason and learn cmputation skills. some of these games are Uno, Chutes and Ladders, and card games.
