QACPS Announces a new Instructional Programs Supervisor for the 2020-2021 School year
CENTREVILLE, MD – Queen Anne’s County Public Schools (QACPS) Superintendent
Dr. Andrea M. Kane today announced the appointment of Michelle McNeil to serve as the new Supervisor of Early Childhood, Reading English Language Arts Prek-2, Title I, English Learners, and Migrant Education. The Board of Education approved Mrs. McNeil’s appointment at its meeting on Wednesday, July 1, 2020.
“We are fortunate to be able to promote an experienced educator from within Queen Anne’s County Public Schools to lead these instructional programs, which are critical for eliminating gaps in student learning through equitable practices with direct support to schools,” said QACPS Superintendent Dr. Andrea M. Kane.
Mrs. McNeil has been teaching in QACPS for 22 years. For the past five school years, she was the Teacher Specialist at Sudlersville Elementary School. Mrs. McNeil was the Reading Specialist at Kent Island Elementary for 12 years after teaching fourth grade at Kennard Elementary School for five years. She has enjoyed working with school leadership teams, staff, families, and, most of all, students.
Mrs. McNeil is a 1994 graduate of Queen Anne’s County High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and then her Masters of Education in Reading with Reading Specialist Certification from Salisbury University. In 2016, Mrs. McNeil completed her Administration 1 Certificate from Wilmington University. She lives in Church Hill with her husband and two children.
