KIFA Student Showcase on Exhibit now until April 25!

 
STEVENSVILLE — (April 9, 2021) — The Kent Island Federation of Arts is pleased to announce the 2021 Student Showcase, sponsored by the generosity of Kent Island Elks Lodge #2576, is now on exhibit in the gallery until April 25th and virtually until April 30th. The exhibit features forty-nine artworks from students in grades K-12 from thirteen public and private schools in Queen Anne’s County. The showcase is a celebration of the arts, the hope it brings, and the resilience of Queen Anne’s County students and teachers in the face of challenging times.

 

Participating schools include Queen Anne’s County High, Kent Island High, Centreville Middle, Stevensville Middle, Matapeake Middle, Matapeake Elementary, Centreville Elementary, Bayside Elementary, Church Hill Elementary, Kennard Elementary, Grasonville Elementary, The Gunston School, students of artist Theresa Schram and The Kent Island Learning Cooperative. Due to the unique circumstances surrounding COVID, the show will feature framed digital copies of student works hung in the gallery as well as a digital show that will be featured on their website and social media platforms.

 

This year’s exhibition was co-chaired by KIFA President, Maria Sage and Director, Stephanie Zeiler. They are extremely pleased KIFA could be open to honor our communities’ young artists and are very appreciative of all the efforts that made this year’s showcase possible. KIFA is open Fridays and Saturdays from 11am – 3pm. Please wear your mask and join us for an “in person” student reception.
