Welcome to Queen Anne's County High School!
Queen Anne's County High School Families:
As we had shared back in November, we will be adjusting the class schedule beginning on January 28th, the start of the second semester. In November, we had requested input about this schedule, and the overwhelming response was that it was a positive change but that we should wait until the natural break of semesters. That time has come!
The new schedule (attached in the link and shown below) requires students to attend each of their classes each day, just as they have been doing for the month of January. However, we will now align our school day more closely to the “regular” school day: beginning at 7:45 and concluding at 2:40. This new schedule will be in effect for full virtual learning, for small group in person learning, and for a hybrid return of 50% capacity. It is our hope that once we all adjust to this new schedule, that it will carry us through the remainder of this school year.
We will continue to utilize Schoology and Google Meet, and attendance will be taken each day for each class based upon the students’ logging into Schoology, as we have been doing for the fall semester.
If this increase of time “in class” poses a hardship for your home’s internet capabilities, please contact the school and speak to Mr. Marketto for options.
As we continue to plan ahead for in-person return, either within small groups or within the 50% capacity model, we request that you complete the Self Screening Form (Español) prior to sending your student back into the building.
Small groups will begin meeting on January 28th. Invites will be sent to those students included within that invite list. Initially, small groups will focus upon students with prioritized educational needs and/or Career and Technology Classes with hands-on-skills requirements. For non-CTE students, the small groups will meet in the cafeteria, or other large meeting space, and will attend their virtual classes under the guidance of para-professionals and/or administration. As faculty begin teaching from the building, small group attendees may be able to receive content-specific assistance with their coursework from their teacher during the lunch or transition time slots.
We continue to remain optimistic that we will see all of the students soon! Please do not hesitate to reach out to your student’s teachers, counselor, or administration with any questions or concerns you may have.
Stay safe and well,
In order to provide each class with ample time to wrap up the semester, our traditionally scheduled “Final Exam Days” will now be “Final Synch Days.” During our 10:15-1:30 school day on Friday January 22nd and Monday January 25th, your student will meet with two of their classes to finalize the semester:
*Hybrid A “Final Synch” is Thursday the 21st during the regularly scheduled 3rd period block
The expectation is that students log in to all scheduled classes on a weekday basis, synchronous as well as asynchronous. If an issue arises (i.e. computer issue, wifi issue, etc.) please be sure to notify your teacher or the main office via phone.
If a student is ill, please follow the regular attendance protocol and call the main office:

When checking student grades, please remember to use PowerSchool instead of Schoology, for accurate and up to date grade information.
