Extended Day and Summer School

at Queen Anne's County Public Schools

Requirements

All students who fail a required math, English (English I, II, III, IV), social studies (Government, American History, World History), or science class (Earth Science or Biology) must repeat the course in either Extended Day School or Summer School. The grade earned will not replace the original grade. The counselors will notify students who fail a math, English, social studies, or science class of the Extended Day or Summer School schedule.

A notice with the class offerings, dates, times, and fees will be distributed to the students.

Parents of students who need makeup credit will be notified of available courses and enrollment procedures by the guidance counselors.

Grading Policy

The grading policy will be consistent with the grading policy used during the school year. The GPA grade will be determined by averaging the student’s previous course grade with the Extended Day or Summer School course grade. Students who fail an HSA course and the state assessment will have to retake the entire course during the school day and retake the state assessment.
