Parker D. and Oakley S., Greeting Card Contest Winners

CENTREVILLE – Queen Anne’s County Public Schools is proud to announce the winners of the Superintendent’s 2025 Winter in Queen Anne’s Art Greeting Card Contest. This year, QACPS Superintendent Dr. Kibler expanded the annual tradition by honoring two outstanding young artists—one representing the southern end of the county and one representing the northern end.

From hundreds of submissions across the district, two fourth-grade students were selected by the Superintendent for their creativity, craftsmanship, and unique interpretations of what a QAC winter looks like to them.

This year’s winners are: Parker D., 4th grade, Matapeake Elementary School, and Oakley S., 4th grade, Church Hill Elementary School.

Dr. Kibler visited both schools to personally surprise the student artists with the news. Watch the video here to see highlights from the visits, including the moment Parker and Oakley learned their artwork had been selected. Joining Dr. Kibler at Matapeake Elementary were Fine Arts Supervisor Michael Bell and Assistant Principal Michelle Wobbe, and at Church Hill Elementary, Principal Susan Walbert.

Art teachers Shannon Francis (MES) and Cassie Hosler (CHES) were also recognized for their dedication and support in inspiring their students’ artistic achievements.

Congratulations to all students who participated in this year’s contest—and to the talented young artists whose work is all featured at the end of the video.

Wishing everyone a warm and happy holiday season!
