Queen Anne’s County Public Schools’ Superintendent, Dr. Patricia Saelens, would like to announce the 2023 Employee of the Year Award Winners and Teacher of the Year Finalists.  Each of the nine mentioned below were surprised at their schools this week with certificates and acknowledgements captured by QACTV and presented by Dr. Saelens and Dr. Sprankle.

Employee of the Year Winners

Outstanding Leadership Award – Susan Walbert, Principal at Church Hill Elementary School

Outstanding Student Service Award/Coach – David Stricker, Coach at Queen Anne’s County High School

Outstanding Support Employee – Junell Nash, School Assistant at Matapeake Middle School

Outstanding Specialist Award – Katie Coursey, Math Specialist at Centreville Elementary School

Outstanding Bus Driver Award – Nancy King, Bus 1720 Grasonville Elementary & Stevensville Middle Schools

Kayla Kairis – Sudlersville Middle School

Thomas Hayman – Centreville Middle School

Erin Connolly – Matapeake Middle School

Andrea Schulte – Kent Island High School

Congratulations to all winners and finalists!  All will be recognized and given their awards at the Awards Gala on March 30, 2023.  Look for a news release on March 31 announcing the Teacher of the Year Winner, following the Awards Gala.
